Disability Adaptations

Other Adaptation Services

At Yorkshire Independent Living Ltd while bathroom adaptation is often the most commonly requested adaptation, we offer services ranging from full kitchens adaptations, ramps and extensions to installation of smaller adaptations such as grab rails.

Kitchen Renovations

As part of our disabled adaptations, we provide kitchen renovation services for the homes of people with disabilities. The design, as well as the process, are tailored to meet your needs. The fit and make of the work surfaces in your kitchen can be adjusted and improved so that they can be reached by everyone.

Other works we perform as part of our kitchen renovations include refitting and supplying gas boilers, as well as rewiring and repairing appliance damages. As part of our project management process, current material will be assessed before the work begins, and we give you the choice of floor tiles, wall tiles, door handles, and wall colour.

Extensions Construction

The issue of first floor bedrooms can be solved with an extension which also provides much more needed space for people with special needs as well as improved access. Some of the solutions we provide as part of our extensions construction services include extra bedrooms, more living space to make the property wheelchair accessible, and bathroom facilities.

We also assess what type of extension is more suitable for our client, including side, rear, wrap-around, or double-storey extensions. Additionally, all the extensions we construct are completed in energy-efficient ways, so they are compliant with the latest energy efficiency rules and building regulations.

Small Scale Home Repairs and Improvements

Some of the small-scale home repairs and improvements we offer to the disabled and elderly include window replacement, garden fencing, door replacement, ramps, grab rails, adjustable worktops, and more.
